System administration Utrecht

System administration for Utrecht: your entire IT in one place

A server in the office, files in the cloud, a specialist application hosted by an outside supplier and a network tying it all together. We manage it as one coherent whole, proactively and fully documented. With a regular point of contact in Vianen, just below the city.

Managing the whole

Every part of your IT, properly aligned

System administration is more than looking after the server. It covers everything your organisation needs in order to work: servers and storage, the network, the cloud, backups, security and the arrangements with your suppliers. At many organisations in Utrecht, the environment has grown over the years, with a server here, a cloud package there and somewhere an integration nobody quite remembers setting up. Infodatek Group maps it all, manages it proactively and makes it simpler step by step. You always know where your IT stands.

  • Servers, storage and cloud managed as a single environment
  • Backups that we test by restoring them at set intervals
  • Updates, security and monitoring as part of the daily routine
  • Coordination of your suppliers, from software vendor to internet provider

City centre and business parks

System administration in Utrecht, from listed building to business park

Space is scarce in a listed building in the city centre. A server cabinet rarely fits comfortably, and the cooling and power supply were never designed for equipment. For offices like these we like to look at ANYBASE, our private cloud in a Tier 3 designed data centre in the European Union, or at Microsoft 365.

On Papendorp, Rijnsweerd or in Leidsche Rijn, organisations often occupy newer buildings with a server room of their own. A hybrid set-up tends to work well there: part on site, part in the cloud, and everything under the same management.

Backup and recovery

Restoring matters just as much as saving

A backup is only valuable if you can restore it. That is why we rehearse recovery at set intervals and record how long it takes and what comes back. If a colleague deletes a folder by accident, or a server needs replacing, you know exactly what to expect.

We back up your servers, your Microsoft 365 environment and your cloud systems, with a copy kept outside your office. The arrangements are recorded in your documentation.

Supplier coordination

One coordinator for all your IT suppliers in Utrecht and beyond

Most organisations deal with a handful of IT parties: the vendor of their specialist software, the internet provider, telephony and the printers. We become the point of contact for all of them. We coordinate updates, keep track of contracts and licences and resolve faults, without you having to phone round between suppliers.

  • Updates to your specialist software agreed with the vendor
  • An overview of licences, contracts and renewal dates
  • One place to report faults, whatever the cause
  • Advice when choosing a new supplier

Security

Security that is simply part of management

Security is built into our daily work: timely updates, access rights that are correct, two-factor authentication and monitoring that flags anything unusual early. If you want to go further, we carry out a cybersecurity audit or help with NIS2 through Smart Compliance. Prefer everything in one agreement at a fixed price per employee? Then Digital Care, our own platform, is the answer.

Sectors

Where system administration makes the difference in the city

Many organisations in Utrecht handle sensitive data and face requirements from clients or regulators. For them, good management means peace of mind, with evidence to back it up.

GP practices and mental health care

GPs, psychologists and mental health providers work with medical records and a practice system that must always be available. Our NEN 7510 certification fits what healthcare asks for, and we keep the environment behind those records stable and well protected.

Law firms and notaries

Around the city centre there are many lawyers, notaries and legal advisers, often in historic buildings. They work with confidential files and fixed deadlines. We keep case management, email and archives available, with backups whose recovery we rehearse.

Manufacturing and wholesale on Lage Weide

On Lage Weide, beside the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal, you will find manufacturers, wholesalers and technical firms. Their ERP, stock system and office IT need to work together seamlessly. We manage that as one environment, including the links with suppliers and customers.

Training providers and colleges

This student city has plenty of training providers. They rely on a learning platform, a scheduling package and many users at once. We manage the servers, storage and integrations behind them, so each new term gets off to a smooth start.

Where we work

System administration across the city of Utrecht and its districts

The city lies at the heart of the country, ringed by the A2, the A12, the A27 and the A28. Vianen sits just to the south, across the Lek. That is where Select IT Professionals is based, part of Infodatek Group since November 2025.

We work for organisations in the city centre, on Lage Weide, Papendorp and Rijnsweerd, in Leidsche Rijn and Vleuten-De Meern, and in the neighbouring municipalities. Most management happens remotely. When a server needs replacing, a server room needs tidying or an office move needs support, we come to you.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about system administration in Utrecht

Our office is in a listed building in the city centre. Can the server stay there?

It can, but it does not have to. We look together at the space, the cooling and the way you work. Often it is more convenient to move the server to ANYBASE, our private cloud in a data centre in the European Union, or to switch to Microsoft 365. Then all you need in the office is a network and workstations. If you prefer to keep the server in house, we manage it there just as carefully.

How can we be sure the backup actually works?

Because we rehearse recovery. At set intervals we restore files or complete systems and check that everything is complete. The outcome goes into your documentation and comes up in the strategy meeting. That way you know not only that a backup exists, but also how quickly you can carry on with it.

What is the difference between system administration and workplace management?

System administration covers the whole environment: servers, storage, network, cloud, backup, security and the suppliers around it. Workplace management focuses on the employee: the laptop, the account, the software and the service desk. Many organisations outsource both to us, so everything fits together. If someone already looks after your workstations, we can handle just the system administration and coordinate with them.

Clients want to know how we handle their data. How can you help with that?

We work to ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 ourselves, and we help you get your own environment demonstrably in order. We record which measures are in place, who has access to what and how recovery is arranged. Smart Compliance helps you keep that up to date, including when NIS2 applies to your organisation. A cybersecurity audit adds an independent view of your environment.

Will all our existing equipment need replacing when you take over management?

No. We take over your environment as it is and start by mapping everything: servers, storage, network and licences. Whatever is still in good shape stays in use. For parts that are due for replacement, you get advice with a timeline, so you can spread your investments. We review that plan in the strategy meeting.
