Even a generic API gets a layered permission model with us
Many software packages offer one general API with one key. Whoever holds that key can reach everything behind it. Fine for tying two systems together, but it starts to pinch as soon as an AI assistant hangs off it, answering questions from across your organisation.
So we put a layered permissions model in front of it. The permissions of the person asking are applied before the data goes back, not afterwards on your screen.
So you never reach information you were not meant to see. Not through the AI either.
