Health and social care

IT for healthcare, built on NEN 7510

In healthcare everything revolves around people, and IT should sit quietly and reliably underneath. Infodatek Group manages and secures the IT of health and social care organisations, and is itself certified to NEN 7510. So you work with a partner that knows the requirements of your sector from the inside.

What care asks of IT

Time for clients, certainty about their data

A care organisation works with the most personal data there is. The record has to be available day and night, at the care location, in the community and sometimes at the client's kitchen table. At the same time you want to be sure that only the right people can open it. Add partners in the care chain, several locations and a changing group of staff and temporary workers. We take over the management and security of your IT. That way your care professionals spend their time on care, and you can show that information security is in order.

  • Management by a partner that is itself certified to NEN 7510 and ISO 27001
  • Role-based access to client data, on phones and tablets in the community too
  • One approach for NEN 7510 and NIS2, without duplicate work
  • Backup in our own data centre in the European Union, plus an offline tape copy

The challenge in care

IT in healthcare: sensitive data, work in many places

A lot comes together in care. There is an electronic record everyone relies on, there are rosters, diaries and contact with clients and families, and people work at care locations, in the community and from home. Staff change shifts and sometimes locations, and interns and temporary workers join in. Everyone needs quick access to the right information, and to nothing beyond that.

On top of that, a care organisation constantly shares data with partners in the care chain: GPs, hospitals, pharmacies and municipalities. That has to happen securely and be properly recorded. We make sure the technology underneath is sound and that you can prove it, so your team keeps its attention on the client.

Who we work for

Which care organisations do we work for?

From a practice with a handful of staff to an organisation with several locations. A few examples.

GPs and primary care

GP practices, physiotherapists, dentists and health centres work with a small team and a full diary. We make sure workstations, the network and the links to your practice software simply do what they should, so surgery hours start on time.

Elderly care and home care

Community teams work with phones and tablets in clients' homes, while care locations keep going day and night. We set up the mobile workplace securely and keep the locations stable, with an eye on temporary workers and changing shifts.

Mental health and youth care

Here it is about particularly sensitive conversations and records, often shared with partners such as municipalities and schools. We arrange access carefully per role and ensure secure exchange, so confidential really stays confidential.

Disability care

Residential locations, day activities and the office are often spread across a region. We bring all those places under one management, with a network that works at every location and a service desk where support workers get help quickly.

Social care and welfare

Welfare organisations work with volunteers, community centres and a lot of contact with the municipality. We provide a simple, secure workplace that also works well for people who are only active a few hours a week.

Frequently asked questions

Questions care organisations often ask us

What does your NEN 7510 certification mean for our care organisation?

Our own way of working is audited independently every year against the standard that applies to you as well. When we manage your IT, you work with a supplier that demonstrably handles sensitive data with care. That helps with your own audit and with questions from care partners about your suppliers. It does not give your organisation a certificate automatically, but it does give you a partner who knows what is involved.

Do you also help with our own NEN 7510 file?

Yes. With Smart Compliance our compliance team starts with a baseline assessment: where do you stand now and what is still needed? We then keep measures, owners and evidence together in one file in Digital Care, which stays current as your environment changes. When an auditor visits, everything is ready. We handle NIS2 and ISO 27001 the same way.

Does our care organisation fall under NIS2?

That depends mainly on your size. Healthcare is one of the sectors named in the law, and care providers from medium-sized upwards fall under it. The usual threshold is 50 or more employees, or an annual turnover and balance sheet total that are both above €10 million. We work it out together, and build NIS2 on what you already have in place for NEN 7510.

Do you also manage our electronic client or patient record?

The record system itself stays with its supplier, who configures and develops it. We take care of everything around it, from workstations and network to access, backup and security. We plan updates and changes together with the supplier. If the record system runs in the supplier's cloud, we make sure your staff can reach it securely and smoothly from every location.

Where is our data stored?

What we store for you stays in the European Union. Backups of servers and databases are kept in a data centre of our own in the European Union, and a copy also goes offline to tape. If you choose ANYBASE, your systems run in our own private cloud, likewise in the European Union. For Microsoft 365 and your suppliers' packages, we look together at which storage agreements apply.

How does the switch work without disrupting care?

First we get to know each other and list what is there: locations, systems, suppliers and current agreements. Based on that you receive a clear proposal. We align the transition with your shifts and rosters, so care simply carries on. We do most of the work remotely from Terneuzen (Zeeland) and Vianen (Utrecht), and come to a location when needed.

Curious where your care organisation stands with NEN 7510?

In half an hour we go through what you already have in place and what the standard still asks of you. You hear where we would start.
