IT management for the island

System administration on Tholen, for businesses between Zeeland and Brabant

The island belongs to Zeeland, but Brabant lies just across the Eendracht. Businesses here work with customers on both sides of the water. Infodatek Group makes sure their entire IT environment keeps pace, from server and cloud to backup and security.

What we do

One partner for all of your IT

Tholen and Sint Philipsland have nine villages and towns spread across a wide farming landscape, with the Oosterschelde all around. You will find arable farmers and traders, builders and installers, holiday parks and marinas, and manufacturers on the business parks. We take over your system administration: servers and cloud, the network, backup and recovery, security, updates and contact with your software suppliers. Our monitoring keeps an eye on everything remotely, so we can step in before you notice anything.

  • Servers, cloud, network and backup under one management
  • Remote monitoring, so we can adjust early
  • Maintenance planned around the season and the harvest
  • ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certified, in business since 2007

Across the water

Working on both sides of the water, with one IT environment

Thanks to the bridge over the Eendracht and the dams, Tholen has effectively become a peninsula, but the water still shapes the way businesses work here. An office on Slabbecoornpolder, a shed in one of the villages, customers in West Brabant, the Rotterdam area or around Antwerp, and staff who regularly work from home.

We bring all those places together in one managed environment. Your data sits centrally, in ANYBASE, our own private cloud in a Tier 3 designed data centre in the European Union, or on a server we maintain for you. Everyone works with the same up-to-date files. Backups go to a second location, and we regularly practise restoring them.

Farming and trade

System administration for arable farming and agricultural trade on Tholen

The island is prime arable country, with wheat, sugar beet, potatoes, onions and flower seeds. Around the crops runs a chain of trading, storage, contract work and supply. A lot comes together there: accounts and crop records in the office, a weighbridge in the yard and a sorting line in the shed, and phones and tablets with the people out in the fields.

We keep the office side stable and secure, and make sure it works well with the equipment in the shed. Updates and larger maintenance are planned outside the busy weeks, so never in the middle of planting or the early potato harvest. For the technology in the shed itself there is Digital Care Agro, our add-on for agriculture and horticulture.

Tourism

IT that moves with the holiday season

Tourism on the island has grown considerably in recent years. Holiday parks, campsites, the marinas of Sint-Annaland, Stavenisse and Tholen and the village cafés run at full speed in summer. More staff, guests and bookings mean your booking system, tills and guest network all have to cope.

We make sure your environment is ready for the rush. Guests get their own network, separate from your administration. Bookings and financial data are covered by a backup that we test regularly. Big jobs are done before or after the season, so you are never kept waiting in summer.

Our approach

A familiar face for your IT, even at a distance

You get one dedicated contact who knows your business, even if you have no IT person of your own. Our monitoring shows us when a disk is filling up or an update gets stuck, and we deal with it. We document your environment and hold a regular strategy meeting with you.

Infodatek Group has 38 colleagues working on management, Cybersecurity, cloud, software and AI. If you want everything in one agreement with a fixed price per employee, Digital Care is where you end up.

Sectors

For the businesses that keep the island going

Besides farming and tourism, the island has manufacturers, builders, hauliers and service providers. We tailor our management to each of them.

Production and packaging

On the business parks near Tholen and Poortvliet, production and packaging companies work with planning software, scanners and machines on the network. We separate office and production, keep systems current and make clear agreements with your machine suppliers.

Construction, installation and engineering

Contractors and installers work on projects all over Zeeland and West Brabant. We make sure drawings, schedules and project files are stored centrally and securely, and that your site managers can reach them from any site.

Transport and logistics

Hauliers and storage companies work with planning, trip records and links to their customers' systems. We keep all of that stable, watch the connections and provide a backup you can build on.

Services and care

Accountancy offices, GPs and care providers in the villages work with residents' confidential data. With our ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certification, you know their systems are managed according to fixed procedures.

Service area

System administration across Tholen and Sint Philipsland

We work for businesses in the town of Tholen and on the Slabbecoornpolder and Welgelegen business parks, and in every village in the municipality: Sint-Maartensdijk, Poortvliet, Scherpenisse, Stavenisse, Sint-Annaland and Oud-Vossemeer. Via the Krabbenkreekdam, Sint Philipsland is part of it too, along with Anna Jacobapolder.

The island sits right between our two offices: Terneuzen to the south-west and Vianen to the north-east. If someone needs to come over, for a new server, a move or a first meeting at the kitchen table, we drive from Terneuzen through the Westerschelde Tunnel and along the A58. We also gladly help businesses on the Brabant side, in Halsteren, Bergen op Zoom and Steenbergen.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about system administration on Tholen

Our business is in one of the villages, not on a business park. Does that matter?

No. We do most system administration remotely, so it makes little difference to us whether your office is in Scherpenisse, in Stavenisse or on Welgelegen. We do look at your internet connection together, because a lot depends on it. If it is limited out in the countryside, a second connection as a backup is often the answer.

Can you plan maintenance outside our busy season?

Yes, it is one of the first things we agree on. We ask when things are busy for you, whether that is the harvest, the sailing season or summer at the campsite. Small updates happen at quiet moments. Bigger work, such as a new server or a move to the cloud, is planned for a calm period.

Can you also manage the technology in our shed or warehouse?

For office IT, that is simply system administration. For the technology in the shed there is Digital Care Agro: we then monitor sorting lines, sensors and cameras and manage the process network. Agro is an add-on to Managed Operations for agriculture and horticulture, with agri specialists who know farming practice. Office and process stay separate, but you see everything in one overview.

Our server is due for replacement. What do you recommend?

That depends on how you work. Sometimes a new server on site makes sense, for software that has to run close to your machines. Often a move to ANYBASE is more convenient: our private cloud in a data centre in the European Union, extended with Microsoft Azure where needed. Then there is no server left in the meter cupboard and everyone can work securely from anywhere.
