For a Westland grower, greenhouse, shed and office belong together. That is how we approach them too: we monitor the climate computers and manage the process network and the office IT, in one overview. Backed by agri specialists who understand what goes on in a greenhouse.
In the Westland, greenhouses of every age stand side by side, sometimes within a single business. A new section with the latest climate control, an older greenhouse a few kilometres down the road, a shed with a grading line and an office where sales and administration sit. All those places run on technology that is linked together. With Digital Care Agro we treat it as one environment. We monitor the climate computers, manage the process network, keep greenhouse and office neatly apart and deal with your technical suppliers. So you can focus on your crop and your sales.

Several greenhouses
All your Westland greenhouses in one overview
Growth in this region often comes step by step: a greenhouse is added in another village, or an old one makes way for a new build. Before long a business has several sites, each with its own climate computers, sensors and network equipment, from different generations.
We map those sites and record what is where, which firmware it runs and which supplier belongs to it. Then we link the greenhouses securely to each other and to the office. One overview shows how every site is doing, and we spot deviations early, in the old greenhouse and the new section alike.
Process network
Climate computers and process network, separate from the office
Climate, irrigation and fertigation are steered by the climate computer, which belongs on a network of its own, together with the energy systems, cameras and sensor gateways. The office, staff phones and the guest network each get their own place. We set up that separation and maintain it, while you keep following everything from one screen.
Wifi in a greenhouse is a craft: glass, steel, humidity and long paths between the crops. We provide coverage where your people work, from the growing sections to dispatch in the shed, and enough capacity when extra hands join during the season.
Growing rhythm
IT management in step with Westland growing
Every crop has moments when you do not want anything to change. Together we set your growing windows, and only within them do we carry out maintenance on the greenhouse network. Work on the climate computers themselves happens only in consultation with the supplier, with a backup of settings first, so any change can always be rolled back.
If a fault in climate, irrigation or fertigation affects your crop, we follow it up in the evening and at weekends too. We agree in advance which faults count and whom we call.
Suppliers and office
One point of contact between you and your suppliers
A growing business soon works with a handful of technical partners: for climate, energy, irrigation, the grading line and the cameras. We liaise with them, plan their work within your growing windows and let them log in securely from afar, to their own systems only.
In the office, Digital Care Managed Operations takes care of workstations, Microsoft 365, backup and security. Seasonal invoicing is possible, and if you are a medium-sized or large business in the food chain, we include NIS2 in the arrangements.
Crops and businesses
For greenhouse horticulture in all its forms
The whole chain comes together in the Westland, from breeding to export. Each part asks something different of IT in greenhouse and shed.
Vegetables under glass
Vegetable growers run climate and irrigation systems all year, often with grow lights and their own energy supply. We monitor that technology and keep the network between greenhouse, boiler house and office stable.
Flowers and pot plants
Ornamental growing has peaks around the holidays, with full sheds and extra people on the lines. We monitor the grading and packing lines and make sure the scanners and shed wifi cope with the rush, and that new colleagues can start quickly.
Breeding
Breeders work with trials that run for years and with knowledge that is worth a great deal. We set up access to systems and data carefully, and make sure trial greenhouses and office are connected securely.
Growers with their own trade
Many growers also sell directly to buyers. Then the climate computer, the shed and the trading system are closely linked. We monitor that chain and manage the network that links it, so an order goes from greenhouse to customer without detours.
Service area
Greenhouse IT across the whole Westland
The Westland is the largest continuous greenhouse horticulture area in the Netherlands. From De Lier and Maasdijk to Honselersdijk, Kwintsheul and Wateringen, growing runs on technology that gets smarter every year.
Infodatek Group and Select IT work extensively in the region's greenhouse horticulture, with agri specialists who know the work in the greenhouse. We work from Vianen and from Terneuzen. We handle monitoring and management largely remotely; for a survey of your greenhouses, new network equipment or coordination with a supplier on site, we come to you.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about IT in Westland greenhouse horticulture
Our greenhouses are spread across the Westland. Can we see them all in one overview?
Yes, that is exactly what Digital Care Agro is for. Each site gets a secure connection to the rest of your business, and all climate computers, network equipment and cameras come together in one overview. Whether a greenhouse is next to the office or in another village, we work the same way everywhere.
How do you make sure maintenance does not affect our crop?
By agreeing things in advance. Together we set your growing windows: the moments when maintenance on greenhouse systems can take place. Outside those windows the systems stay as they are. Before every change we back up settings, and we coordinate updates to climate computers with the supplier.
What do you do, and not do, with our climate computer?
We monitor the climate computer and manage the network and the connection to it. Backups of settings and the firmware are handled only in consultation with the supplier, and in case of a fault, we call in the supplier. The growing settings themselves are for you and your crop consultant to decide, and questions about the software go to the supplier. We make sure that supplier can work securely from a distance and that everyone knows who does what.
We have many extra people in the season. How does that work with accounts and wifi?
We plan it in advance. For seasonal workers we set up accounts with only the permissions they need, and we make sure wifi coverage copes with the extra devices in greenhouse and shed. Once the season is over, we close those accounts again. Seasonal invoicing is possible, so the arrangement matches the shape of your year.
Do you have an office in the Westland?
No. We work from Vianen, where Select IT is based, and from our head office in Terneuzen. That works fine: monitoring and management happen almost entirely remotely, outside office hours too. For a survey, new equipment or work with a supplier on site, we plan a visit to your greenhouse.
