From the workstations in the office to the network on the factory floor. Infodatek Group manages manufacturers' IT proactively, with a fixed contact person who knows your production environment. So production keeps running and your team can focus on what it makes.
A production company is not an ordinary office. Alongside workstations, email and an ERP system, you have machines, controllers, sensors and scanners on the shop floor. Those two worlds, IT and OT, are becoming more and more connected in manufacturing. That brings opportunities: real-time insight into production, less manual work and better planning. It also calls for IT that is set up for it. Infodatek manages the complete IT environment of manufacturers, from the planner's laptop to the network in the production hall. For many companies we are the IT department, either fully or alongside the people you already have in house.

IT and OT
Office and factory floor, each with their own needs
In the office it is all about workstations, Microsoft 365, email and administration. On the shop floor it is about machines and systems that have sometimes been running for years and simply need to keep working. Older controllers run there alongside modern cloud applications. That is normal for a manufacturer, and it calls for management that can handle both.
We start by mapping what is there: which systems, which connections and which suppliers. We then advise on a logical separation between the production network and the office network, so each gets its own space. A fault in the office then stays in the office, and production carries on.
Your existing production software and machines stay as they are. We manage the infrastructure around them and work together with the suppliers of your machines and software.
ERP and integrations
ERP, planning and machines that talk to each other
The ERP system is often the heart of a manufacturing business: orders, stock, purchasing, planning and invoicing. Around it are integrations with the warehouse, the webshop, the accounts, scanners and sometimes directly with machines. When those integrations work well, information flows by itself from order to shop floor and back again.
We provide a stable foundation under your ERP: server or cloud, backup, access and updates, in consultation with your ERP supplier. If your ERP still runs on its own server, it can move to ANYBASE, our own private cloud in a Tier 3 designed data centre in the European Union. With our software team we build integrations and automation, for example so nobody has to retype data between systems.
A factory hall places different demands on a network than an office does. Large spaces, steel structures and machines make wifi a craft of its own, while handheld scanners, tablets and forklift terminals need a connection everywhere. We design the network around what happens in the hall, with good coverage where it is needed.
Wifi with coverage in the hall, warehouse and dispatch area
Separate networks for office, production and guests
Firewall management and secure remote access for machine suppliers
Connections between sites or a second production location
Monitoring of switches, access points and connections
Continuity and security
Continuity and Cybersecurity for manufacturing
A manufacturer wants production to keep going, outside office hours too. That is why we work proactively: our monitoring keeps watch continuously and flags anything unusual, so we solve many problems before the shop floor notices. We set up backup and recovery so that you are quickly back at work after an incident.
Customers and supply chain partners increasingly ask for proof that your security is in order. Part of the manufacturing industry also falls under NIS2 (the Cyberbeveiligingswet in the Netherlands), for example manufacturers of machinery, electronics, electrical equipment and vehicles. We help with security, documentation and Smart Compliance, so you are ready when a customer or auditor asks.
Security for laptops, PCs and servers, with updates on a fixed schedule
Management of phones, tablets and handheld scanners on the shop floor
Backup and recovery for systems in the office and in production
Microsoft 365 set up securely, for the office and the home office
We mainly work for manufacturers in Zeeland, West Brabant and the Utrecht region, with roughly 15 to 150 employees. A few examples.
Metalworking
From sheet metal work and machining to steel construction. Here CNC machines and CAD software run alongside the ERP. We make sure drawings, programs and orders reach the right place quickly and securely, from work preparation to machine.
Plastics processing
Injection moulding, extrusion and assembly often run in shifts. That makes a stable network on the floor extra important, as well as management that takes it into account, for example by planning updates together at times that do not affect production.
Technical wholesale
Stock, order picking and delivery run on a well-functioning ERP with scanners and integrations with suppliers and customers. We keep that chain from office to warehouse stable, clear and secure.
Machine building and industrial production
Machine builders work with drawings, software and customers who ask more and more questions about security. Sometimes NIS2 even applies directly. We help with a secure environment and with the documentation to show it.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about IT in manufacturing
Do you also manage our production network, or only the office?
Both. We manage the office network and the infrastructure on the shop floor, such as switches, wifi, firewalls and the connections to machines and scanners. The machines themselves and their control software stay with the supplier. We make sure that supplier can log in securely remotely when needed, and that the network around it is stable and well secured.
Do we have to replace our production software when we switch?
No. Your existing software and systems stay as they are. We take over the management of the infrastructure around them: servers, network, workstations, backup and security. If we see opportunities to improve something, such as moving an old server to the cloud or an integration that saves manual work, we discuss it in the regular strategy meeting. You decide what happens and when.
How does switching to Infodatek work?
In four steps. We start with an introductory meeting and map your IT and production environment. You then receive a clear proposal setting out what we do and what you can expect. We plan the transition together, at times that suit your production, so the shop floor notices as little as possible. From day one we manage proactively and think ahead with you about the next step.
Does NIS2 apply to our company?
That depends on what you make and how big you are. The law covers manufacturers of machinery, electronics, electrical equipment, vehicles and medical devices, among others, generally from 50 employees or a turnover and balance sheet total above €10 million. Even if it does not apply to you, customers can set requirements for your security. We are happy to go through it with you.
Who does what for our ERP system?
We manage the environment your ERP runs on: server or cloud, backup, access and your users' workstations. The configuration of the ERP itself usually stays with your ERP supplier, and we coordinate updates and changes with that supplier. For integrations and automation between systems you can turn to our own software team.
Do you only work for manufacturers in Zeeland?
No. We work from Terneuzen (Zeeland) and Vianen (Utrecht), for more than 500 organisations across the Benelux, from SMEs to organisations with several hundred employees. We do most of the management remotely. If something is needed in the office or on the shop floor, we come over.
