Why your Microsoft 365 environment must be set up properly

By Didier Battermann

Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based environment. This brings many advantages, such as data that can be accessed almost anywhere and the ability to share that data quickly and easily.

But how well do you actually know which data is being shared and, more importantly, with whom?
Precisely because information can be shared so easily, data can end up in places where it should not be. This is a major risk for your business.

Fortunately, Microsoft 365 comes with several features to protect sensitive information. With auditing, for example, you can check which files are being used and what happens to them. This can come in very handy for detecting and preventing data leaks. With a well-designed policy for data protection and compliance, you can prevent certain information from being made accessible both outside and inside your organisation.

There are quite a few ground rules to consider before your Microsoft 365 environment is set up. Rolling out the environment 'out of the box' is often neither practical nor workable for organisations, so a good configuration is essential. Our Microsoft 365 team installs, configures and monitors environments like these for a range of clients every day. Our people are also continuously trained and certified so they always keep up with the latest developments.

It is extremely important that your environment is set up properly, but we think it is even more important that you, as the person responsible within your organisation, know how it has been set up. Infodatek wants to give you full transparency about the state of your data, security and configuration.
