Security Awareness

By Didier Battermann

Hackers are increasingly choosing to target your staff. This is currently the most successful way to hack a business. On average, 30% of employees pose a risk to the security of your business. That is why it is more important than ever to create security awareness among employees.

What exactly is security awareness?

Security awareness is a term for the level of awareness and the ability of people to avert threats to information security. IT can be managed and set up in a safe and responsible way; people and their behaviour are a lot harder to control.

Why security awareness?

Good security therefore starts with a number of measures, such as a firewall and antivirus software. But these kinds of measures alone are no longer enough these days. Most of the risks to your IT system are caused by human actions. Ignorance or negligence, or a combination of the two, make things easy for cyber criminals and increase the impact of cyber attacks. People are the weakest link in security, and hackers know this too.

How does it work?

First of all, an initial test is carried out. Using a simulated phishing attack, we test how much risk you are running. Your employees are then trained using awareness content, interactive modules, videos and newsletters. Simulated phishing attacks will take place at irregular moments to see how aware your employees are of the risks. The results are presented in a clear report and provide insight into the ROI. Research shows that after 3 months, the risk percentage has fallen from 30% to an average of 15%. After 12 months, it is barely present at all, at 2%.
Through our training courses and workshops, your employees can build awareness of the risks and dangers of cyber attacks.
